Ayurvedic treatment for Minor Skin diseases with pictures

According to Charaka (School of Ayurvedic Medicine), there is two major classifications of all types of ‘Kushtha’ (skin diseases). These are: Maha Kushtha (Major skin disease) and Kshudra Kushtha (Minor skin disease).
Maha Kushtha (Major skin disease), we have already been discussed previously in another post so here we are discussed about Kshudra Kushtha (Minor skin disease) in details.
Further, Kshudra Kushtha (Minor skin disease) is subdivided into eleven sub-types as follows:

2)      The person doesn’t get sweat in the affected area

6)      Some of the Ayurvedic physicians consider this one is a variety of Psoriasis.

  • External application: Shatdhauta grita- Grita (clarified butter) washed in water for hundred times, Jivantyadi Malahar (Ointment), Skintone oil (Siddham Ayurveda’s)
  • Internal application: Kwath (Decoction)– OPD CHEK Decoction (Siddham Ayurveda’s), Triphala kwath, Laghu manhishthadi kwath (Note: Freshly prepared decoction mixed with cow’s ghee/clarified butter is advisable); Vati (Tablets) – Tab. Alasak:
1)      The affected skin is full of itching and red papules
2)      Developed by vitiated Vata & Kapha or Vata & Kapha doshas dominance
3)      Some of the Ayurvedic physicians consider this one is an ‘Urticaria’
Ayurvedic treatment for Alasak/ Ayurvedic treatment for Urticaria:

  • Panchkarma treatment (Medicated vomiting followed by medicated purgation) should be advised prior to the palliative treatment or the person is advised to take ‘Clear Vit’ powder (Siddham Ayurveda’s) four teaspoonfuls mix with the equal quantity Honey and around half to one glass of Water early in the morning and with empty stomach. The person is advised not to eat anything after consuming of the Clear Vit mixture until he feels hungry.
  • External application: ‘Argwadhadi lepa’ (Paste) or ‘Glow skin-pack’ (Siddham Ayurveda’s) mixed with buttermilk should be applied twice a day; Skintone oil (Siddham Ayurveda’s) should be applied after removing the ‘Argwadhadi lepa’ or ‘Glow skin-pack’.

4)      Some of the Ayurvedic physicians consider this one is a ‘Ring worm infection’.
Ayurvedic treatment for Dadru/ Ayurvedic treatment for ‘Ring worm infection’:

  • Medicated vomiting (Vamana karma- a type of Panchkarma procedure) should be advised first and Siravyadha treatment (Ayurvedic Vene puncture procedure) is advisable locally or the person is advised to take ‘Clear Vit’ powder (Siddham Ayurveda’s) four teaspoonfuls mix with the equal quantity Honey and around half to one glass of Water early in the morning and with empty stomach. The person is advised not to eat anything after consuming of the Clear Vit mixture until he feels hungry.
